Your information
When you request information about my classes or book a class I ask for data such as your name, e-mail address, contact number(s)and relevant medical information. I keep a record of this information so I can contact you, share my offerings and make any modifications to your yoga practice. I will not share it with anybody - it is stored on my icloud and Mailchimp, which are GDPR compliant.
I store sensitive data for as long as services are in progress and students remain active clients plus 6 months. Email addresses provided via Mailchimp are stored until consent is withdrawn Information required for tax and legal requirements are held for 7 years as a requirement by law. I keep a record of class registration, so I can help to deal with any enquiries or problems you may have in the future. I keep a record of any e-mail communication you send us for 1 year, so I can track any problems or concerns you’ve had.
Please do not supply any other person’s personal data to me, unless required by law or you have their explicit consent to do so.
How I use your personal data
All personal information gathered either in person, via email or website is used to operate and improve the yoga I offer to you.
Legal Basis for Processing Data My lawful basis for processing data are: Consent (to signing up for my newsletter) - Legal Obligation (tax purposes) - Contract (students booking classes)
Requesting Your Information If you would like to review the data you have provided to me because you think it might be incorrect, and/or you would like it erased from my records, please email me. You have the right under GDPR to be forgotten, to withdraw your consent, to change information I have. I am very happy to comply with this in accordance with the law.
How I protect data
The Internet is not a fully secure platform for communication so I cannot guarantee the security of any data you send to me (or me to you) via the Internet. I am not responsible for any damages which you, or others, may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information. However, I promise to take every precaution to safeguard your information. All personal data stored by me is kept on a server
in a secure environment. The computer and iPad on which work I work is password protected, and any data held in the cloud is password protected. The risks of a breach are minimal and security systems are always up to date. Breaches will be identified, reported, managed, and resolved according to the ICO guidelines.
How you can help me protect your data
Whenever you willingly divulge personal data online in non-protected situations (on message forums, through email, or in chat spaces) that data can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal data online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited communications from other parties in return. Also, closing your browser window when you have finished using the computer ensures others cannot access your personal data and communications. If you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place, I cannot confirm or warrant the security of any data you communicate to me, and therefore you do so at your own risk. Once I receive your communication, I will make my best effort to ensure its securely on my system.
